ABOUT

WHAT TYPES OF GROUPS ARE OFFERED?

TOPICAL GROUPS (Groups that are teacher-driven and centered around a particular curriculum.)

COMMUNITY GROUPS (Groups based on community and doing life together.)

INTEREST GROUPS (Groups centered around a common hobby or interest.)

HOW OFTEN DO GROUPS MEET?

Most groups meet weekly.

WHEN & WHERE DO GROUPS MEET?

Every night of the week there is a Group meeting in the Bastrop and surrounding areas. The majority of groups meet in a constant location (e.g. the home of a group member or at the church), though some prefer to take turns meeting in different members’ homes.

WHAT GOES ON AT A MEETING?

Although every group has its own style and flow, each group spends time developing meaningful relationships, reading the Bible and discussing how it relates to our lives, praying together, and encouraging one another. Most Community Groups utilize sermon discussion questions to help initiate group conversation, deeper Bible study and prayer. Topical Groups have a set curriculum that they follow during a semester. Interest Groups are a starting point for community as they gather around a hobby and intentionally talk about faith and get you connected to another Topical or Community Group. Outside of specific meeting times, groups often gather to partner with other ministries to serve in local outreach.

WHAT ARE SOME EXAMPLES OF A TOPICAL GROUP?

Men's Bible Study, Women's Bible Study, re|engage, Financial Peace University, Connections Group, MOPS, Grief Share, Celebrate Recovery
