As we read James 1:1-4 & 1:12, the brother of Jesus encourages us to consider trials as occasions for joy rather than a time to resign or be discouraged. James believes that we can count it all joy, in midst of trials, because trials in life are inevitable. It’s not a matter of if we face trials but when we face trials of various kinds. He also believes that we can count them all as joy because they are used to produce perseverance, maturity, and completeness.
